Fundamental and Beginner based techniques aimed towards white belts. Classes are taught in a friendly, relaxed and positive manner. Each instructor offers their own personality to the class so each instructors class will feel slightly different but all classes are taught in a respectful, encouraging manner.
Fundamental techniques with extra details given as well as some more intermediate techniques included. This class is suitable for all levels, from white belt through to black. The higher belts will be able to offer advice to newer members to help them with their Jiu Jitsu. Each roll will be varied to reflect the multitude of skill levels attending.
Techniques are more complicated with a string of attack and defences options and nuances to positions often being shown. This class is most suitable for Blue Belts and above but students are encouraged to start sporadically attending these classes from 3 stripe white belts upwards.
These classes are in tee shirt/rash-guard and shorts/leggings. Movements change because of the lack of gripping and the easier access to leg entanglements. All Level classes are suitable for anyone but it is recommended you do 2 months of Beginners classes to be able to perform some of the very basic movements. Advanced No Gi is from Blue Belts and above however students can start supplementing advanced training from 3 stripe white belt and above.
These classes are again performed in a tee shirt/rash-guard and shorts/leggings. The skill learnt is the ability to take your opponent down from the feet to the mat. An intense cardio workout that will get you in great shape and help improve your confidence in the standing element of grappling.
Open Mat is not so much a class as it is ‘free time’ to work on techniques or just get in extra rolling time. We have members open mat every Friday and hold ‘anyone welcome’ Open Mats during the Bank Holiday’s and Easter / Christmas Breaks etc.
A super enthusiastic session that is aimed at building a child’s confidence. A class that is aimed at enhancing their inquisitiveness towards Jiu Jitsu.
A class based on fundamental techniques both self-defence and sport based. These sessions are taught in a friendly, fair and firm manner.
A class based on more detailed fundamentals as well as advanced techniques. These sessions are friendly and relaxed in manner. Older children will have been training many months in Juniors I and younger members of the group with have been training considerably longer than that.
A class with children of mixed ability – some starting out, some much more experienced. Techniques are fundamental while extra details are given to the more experienced students. This class can be of great benefit to both less and more experienced students when rolling.
