"With a busy, demanding job, stepping onto the mats gives me an hour or two where nothing else matters, work, life and other stresses disappear, all that you focus on is the sport.
Beyond that, itās the people who make it special. Iāve built lifelong friendships, become part of a genuinely supportive community, and gained a new level of confidence.
At 38, Iām preparing for my first IBJJF competition. If youād told me that four years ago, Iād have laughed my socks off, but thatās what this journey does. It pushes you further than you thought possible."
So proud of everyone of these kids yesterday. This was our first kids only comp and it was the Junior Nationals so the level was insanely good. Well done to both the kids and the parents that put so much time and effort into their children`s Jiu Jitsu.
We got to showcase our Jiu Jitsu and there were some really great highlights and proud moments and it was really pleasing to see how the kids are developing.
There were also some great take aways and learning points for the next comp - the Solent Open next month.
The comp was run really well and it truly showcased the National level of kids Jiu Jitsu.
